Hello my stationery obsessives! The brief for our post this week was Valentines Bucket list and I must say this one was tricky. I am married to a man who is not very romantic, so I have become used to having low expectations when it comes to Valentines day! In turn I don’t really make much effort when it comes to giving presents back. We did get out last night for a date night, we had dinner out and that was our little treat for Valentines day early. The truth of it is that there isn’t really anything I need from a gift point of view, and there isn’t anything that I need. If I were to ask for gifts it wouldn’t be things that you could buy in the shops. Here is a list of things that I would like as a gift:
- A long uninterrupted bath, with no small people coming in, asking to get in, or asking for me to do something.
- An afternoon to sit and craft or play with my planner
- A cup of tea in bed
- For the laundry to be taken care of for a day
- The ironing to be taken care of
I think if I were to ask Chris, he would say the same sorts of things. Uninterrupted time to work on his fish tank being the main one. I think in short, as the parents of two young children the best gifts we can give each other right now is the gift of time.
I know, with Valentines day being a Tuesday, it will be a very normal type of day. By the time the kids are in bed we will both be shattered and it will be a normal day. The best I can think of is to make my husband a nice cup of tea and put the kids to bed so at least we can have a cuddle on the sofa.
What are your plans for Valentines day?
